About the Present Continuous tense

The present continuous tense, or present progressive tense, is used to depict continuous actions in the present, by employing the auxiliary verb “to be” (am, is, are) followed by the present participle (-ing) of the main verb. It is versatile and can illustrate current happenings, momentary circumstances, or forthcoming plans. Additionally, it can add emphasis or convey feelings of annoyance or urgency.

Questions – interrogative sentences

To construct a question we have to put the verb „to be at the beginning of the sentence, in front of the subject. The rest of the sentence is similar to that of an affirmative sentence. Again, we add the suffix –ing to the base form of the verb.

The sentence will look as follows:

To be (am, are, is) + subject + verb +(-ing) + object?
